1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information means any information about an identifiable individual, including any information that relates to you and identifies you personally, either alone or in combination with other information. We may collect certain types of personal information from you, including information received in correspondence, telephone conversations, voice mail or e-mail pertaining to an existing contract with our clients or suppliers or one that is in the process of negotiation. Inside Edge may collect various types of personal information about you, as explained in greater detail below:

From Individuals (Client or agent): The information collected may include personal information such as name(s) of an individual, date of birth, place of residence, contact information including mailing address, billing address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses, personal history including financial or credit information, information you provide to us including customer services requests and feedback, personal information as to Corporate involvement and security clearances.

From Corporate clients: The following may be kept in our files: Corporate name of a client’s supplier organizations or their agents, place of business, business phone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses, contract information, sales research information, billing, service contracts and credit information. Canadian privacy laws generally do not apply to business contact information (name, address, phone, fax and email) used for business purposes, and therefore is not subject to this Policy.

We may also collect:

Technical information: This includes the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, general location derived from your IP address, your login information, browser type and version, certain website interaction information including products that you search for, time zone setting, date and time of visit, browser plug-in types and versions, or operating system and platform.

Law Enforcement: Inside Edge may disclose Personal Information to third parties without your consent for any of the following reasons: (i) to comply with any law, regulation or order of a court, administrative agency or government tribunal; (ii) to cooperate with Government investigations; (iii) to help prevent fraud or to enforce or protect the rights of Inside Edge and to pursue available remedies or limit any damages that we may sustain; or (iv) where it is necessary to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of an identifiable person or group.

Other Third Parties: (i) the information is public as permitted by law; (ii) it is necessary to proceed with or complete a “business transaction”, such as purchase and sale of an organization or assets, a merger or amalgamation, making of a loan, charge, lease or licensing, or other prescribed business activity; (iii) it is reasonable for the purposes of investigating a breach of an agreement, or actual or suspected illegal activity; or (vi) it is necessary to identify an individual who is injured, ill or deceased, or (vii) due to an emergency that threatens the life, health or security of an individual.

Where required or permitted to disclose personal information without consent, Inside Edge will not disclose more information than is required.

6. HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Inside Edge will retain your personal information only for so long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to meet our legal and contractual obligations. Where personal information is no longer needed, it will be securely destroyed or permanently anonymized or de-identified.
